Tu Sooraj Main, Sanjh Piyaji Storyline:
You are the sun I am the Twilight, beloved is an extended story of Diya Aur baati Hum that takes place after 20 years and revolves around the children of Sooraj and Sandhya. It is primarily the story of Kanak who struggled to live up to her parents and make them proud.
Kanak’s grandmom, Santosh initially hated her as she considered her responsible for Sooraj and Sandhya’s death but later she accepts her as a family. Kanak’s life took a new turn when Uma Shankar Tonishwal forcefully married her believing that as a sign from Lord. He was a kind-hearted and rich, but superstitious man and an Ayurveda doctor by profession. Uma was a blind follower of morals taught by his materialistic and two-faced maternal aunt, Nanda Devi.
Kanak started her journey with Uma to teach him the greatest message of life that is humanity, though she was criticized by Palomi and harmed by Nanda. While she was leading her life with Uma, Kanak fell in love with him after realizing she as the perfect wife for him. Nevertheless, Kanak got to know that her family sweet shop has been sold to an unknown buyer, and she pledged to take it back to keep her parent’s memory alive. It was soon revealed that the buyer was Uma Shankar, Kanak divorced him and stole the shop papers
Later, Uma decided to get married to Palomi. While Palomi and Uma were getting married, Uma felt that Kanak is in danger, so he left the marriage and went to look for Kanak. He found Kanak in a forest, where Aditya hanged her on a tree. Uma saved Kanak’s life and sent Aditya to Jail. Uma and Kanak confessed their love to each other and decided to get re-married within ten days. In the middle of all this, Nanda and Aditya played a blame game with Uma and gets him jailed for ten years, but somehow Kanak and Uma escaped and went to Bangkok. They changed their identity and exposed Nanda and Aditya. After returning to India, they decided to get married but Uma ditched Kanak and married Meera Mittal, the disturbed daughter of a rich businessman.
Two Years Later
Kanak was self-sufficient and was holding a bitter hatred towards Uma, who reappeared in his life. Uma was now a successful business tycoon running the ‘K & U’ company. Later in the story, it was revealed that Uma still loves Kanak wholeheartedly and was blackmailed and forced to marry Meera to save his younger cousin Suman from getting jailed for a murder she had unintentionally committed.
Suman was full of guilt and decided to sacrifice her life so that Uma and Kanak could re-unite. On the other hand, Meera and Aditya tried to make Kanak married to some other guy but were unsuccessful. Kanak finally got to know the truth and got rid of all the ill feelings towards Uma and gets Meera arrested with help of others making a crafty plan.
Uma and Kanak finally got married again and lived happily. Soon Aditya also realized his mistake and became loyal to his brother and sister-in-law. There was again a twist in the story when Nanda came out of the jail.
Meanwhile, Saras (Uma’s Sister) suffered a miscarriage and seeing Uma’s sadness over this matter Kanak and Aditya decided to launch a Bike Ambulance so that every emergency patient gets admitted to the hospital as soon as possible. This idea created many enemies for Kanak and Uma and Dr Parag, Dean of Pratistha Medical College joined hands with Nanda to cancel Uma’s license so that Dr Parag can use this Nobel idea to flourish his own Medical College and take the credit all by himself. Kanak decided to study Paramedicals and become a doctor herself to save the license from being cancelled. After facing all the hurdles set by Dr Parag, Kanak at last succeeded in removing the mask from Dr Parag’s face, revealing his true intentions in front of everyone and gets him arrested. Nanda was also planning for revenge from Dr Parag ever since she got out of jail, as she was ill-treated by him in the jail. Nanda later stopped plotting against Uma and Kanak and became kind towards them.
· Uma at that time received a fake call and was attacked by goons, who also trashed his bike ambulance. He recovered 6 months later but lost his memory completely. Everyone was surprised to know that he turned into the same superstitious person as he was before. He forced Kanak to either choose him or pursue her paramedics’ course. In the end, Kanak continued with her dream of becoming a doctor. Uma supported her decision and Aditya revealed that they planned to impart confidence and passion in Kanak, which she was lacking and that he had never lost his memory. On this happy note, the story finally ended and Kanak finally became a doctor with the blessing of all the elders.
